Started in 1990, the original founder started blending spices together in small sachets and sold them with recipes for his own Indian meals printed on the back. The packs were an instant hit they allowed people to create authentic Indian dishes easily and conveniently.
When the original founder retired, his children took over and along with the 29 blends in their Classic range they have now developed 16 organic spice blends, certified by the Soil Association, using the same authentic recipes and blends. The cooking instructions are easy to follow and other ingredients needed to complete the dishes are readily available. Each sachet makes a delicious meal for 46 people.
The customers are a mix of farm shops, delicatessens, food wholesalers and food box suppliers and are found by word of mouth, through the internet and trade show attendance.
There is a small packaging line through which the spices are bagged. The bags are then put into boxes by hand by an outside contractor and deliveries are by post or courier.
There are no employees.
