BUSINESS DESCRIPTION
Formed in 1968 by the current owner’s parents, this well-respected and prize-winning bakery has grown impressively from takings of just £70 a week 43 years ago, to a turnover of £357,000 in 2010.
The Bakery supplies both the local wholesale market and the public through 3 busy high street retail shops located within a highly desirable Dorset coastal town.
Two of the shops have spacious, well appointed 3-bedroom flats above, bringing the business additional revenue in rentals totalling £13,800 per annum. The flats are currently let on AST’s although vacant possession can be arranged if required.
Products made freshly on the premises include varieties of bread, doughnuts, Danish pastries, the famous Dorset apple cake, and no less than 12 varieties of scones. Sandwiches and filled rolls are also available from the shops.
The bakery supplies 12 wholesalers across the region and boasts a total of 3,500 customers per week through the shops, with some travelling from as far as 20 miles away.
The current owner of 20 years standing is reluctantly having to retire due to failing health and is willing to offer the new owner a mutually agreed training, handover and transition period.
