This is an excellent opportunity to aquire a well run and highly successful business based in Teeside. Established in 1982 by the owner and his brother, the company is now one of the leading groundwork suppliers in the area and have regularly set the benchmark for their industry. They have a large database of clients with a blue chip base of influential market leaders who provide the bulk of their work load.
The company’s aim is to provide a first class service with oustanding attention to detail and this has been proven with the company being recognised by the NHBC for their work on site. For ten successive years they have been in the top ten out of eighteen thousand building sites in the UK for their excellent quality of work in the national NHBC awards. Recognition like this does not come easily or without a well oiled team. The company moto is to do the job right, the first time and they are proud of the fact that they have never been replaced on site by a competitor in the history of the company.
The company offers a range of groundwork services to the house building and construction industry. These include, foundations, landscaping, drainage, footpaths, concrete flooring, driveways etc. There is an excellent and modern up to the minute inventory of equipment within the business, of excavators and dumper trucks enabling the company to handle even the most demanding of jobs.
The business runs with a small, but skilled, qualified and experienced full time staff. The bulk of the workforce have been with the company over a number of years and have shown an oustanding level of workmanship and are well respected within their industry.
Expansion Potential
The company has grown steadily over the years and the owners believe that there is an excellent opportunity to take the business forward over the coming years.
The company have been trading consistently since foundation, but ten years ago they commenced work on a major housing project in the North East and have worked continually on this development ever since. There is still circa six years work left on the current project and it is reasonable to assume that the company will be retained by their longstanding partner for the rest of the development.
Like most groundworks company’s turnover has decreased during the recent recession, but unlike others the company have been striving to obtain new contracts. A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for the company to work on a pilot scheme with an alternative energy source operation. They are provided the groundworks for 50 council houses which rely on coal fires. They are having a new piped heating source fitted into their homes. The company have become the approved installer for the ground source heating with a potential total of 4,000 homes having the system installed. The company are providing the whole package including, pipe laying, re-turf or re-concreting.
The company could tender for more work, which they currently ignore, and build up relationships with other housing developers and contractors. This could also lead to an expansion of the geographical area which could easily cover the whole of the North of England.
There are options for the company to add on complimentary services to their portfolio, simply by providing services for roads and sewers within their remit.
